Safety Patrol

KRES Safety Patroll

Grades:  3rd, 4th, & 5th 

Advisor:  Sgt. Lundy

Purpose:  to help keep our school safe by preventing accidents from occurring and to develop leadership qualities in our members.

Membership:  (selected in April of each year for the following year)  Being a member of the Safety Patrol is an honor that carries a great responsibility and a lot of dedication.  Students are chosen based on their character and academic record.  Safety Patrol Candidates are selected from students recommended by their Second, Third, and Fourth grade teachers for the following year.  During the month of April, chosen candidates must write a paragraph stating why they would make a good safety patrol member and interview with the Safety Patrol Coordinator.  Members are selected based on:  sound judgement, reliability, good attendance record, leadership, maturity, courtesy, punctuality, good grades, desire to help others, and respect for classmates.

Training Requirements:  All selected candidates must attend the two day Safety Patrol camp in June of each year.

Meetings:  Friday Mornings before school.

Kay Road Elementary is Proud to have a quality group of students as members of our School Safety Patrol.  Patrols develop responsibility, and attention to duty, alertness, dependability and a sence of social obligations.
